Completed as Shirala for the British India Steam Navigation Company at a cost of £211,900.
03.1940
Spent six years under the Liner Division.
1940
Spent a brief period as a Personnel Ship.
1942
Spent a brief period as a Personnel Ship.
1945
Spent a brief period as a Personnel Ship.
1946/1947
Served on the Bombay/East Africa service before the new K-class ships arrived.
1949
Returned to the Calcutta/Japan service.
1950
Employed on charter to the Pakistan Government for the Karachi/Chittagong service.
03.05.1951
Sold to British Iron & Steel Corporation for £60,000 and scrapped at Blyth by Hughes Bolckow Shipbreaking Co Ltd. Her bell had previously been handed over to the Gurkha Rifles for installation as the Quarter Guard Bell at the Recruiting Depot at Jalapahur.
