Delivered as Cumberland to the Federal Steam Navigation Company at a cost of £869,000. She was a sister to New Zealand Shipping Company’s Haparangi.

Suffered a fire in the electrical switchboard at Wellington.
03.11.1967
Had a cargo fire while at Auckland which was extinguished without damage to the vessel.
25.07.1971
Fire in wool cargo in No.4 hold 50km (30 miles) from Auckland inward bound from Port Chalmers.
01.10.1971
Management and operation transferred to P&O General Cargo Division.
19.04.1973
Ownership transferred to The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company.
04.02.1976
Collided with motor tug Mahia when berthing at Napier.
25.12.1976
Sold to Nan Feng Steel Enterprise Co Ltd, Taiwan for demolition at Kaohsiung.
10.03.1977
Demolition commenced.
