Laid down for The Shipping Controller, London. Purchased by The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company for £69,041 together with another coaster, Redcar.
13.09.1919
Launched. She slid into the water so fast that she ran on to the opposite bank of the River Ouse, and it was possible to walk under her hull at low tide.
05.12.1919
Delivered as Eston for The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company. Eston is a town on Tees-side in northeast England.
26.01.1940
Sailed from Hull for Blyth and disappeared. She was reported off Blyth two days later and is presumed to have struck a mine the same day. One boat was washed ashore on 29th January 1940 and another, and the body of a seaman, the next day. No other traces of the vessel were found.
