Launched by Mrs C S Mundy.
19.12.1952
Delivered as Chinkoa for the British India Steam Navigation Company Ltd. She was the thirteenth and last of the prolific C-class to be delivered.
1953
Anchored at Gibraltar with engine and steering trouble. Taken in tow for the UK by the P&O vessel Sunda. She was transferred to the tug Englishman on her arrival off Manacles Buoy.
10.1955
Towed to Bombay with engine trouble by Olinda.
01.10.1971
Management transferred to P&O General Cargo Division.
15.04.1972
Sustained heavy damage to her bridge while shifting in bad weather in Antwerp Docks. She was on a voyage from Hull to Tanga at the time. Repairs were considered uneconomical.
03.05.1972
Sold to Revalorizacion de Materiales SA, Spain, for demolition at Bilbao.
