- Suffered a fire in her cotton cargo at Mombasa which had been extinguished the following day without damage to the ship.

- Sold to British Iron & Steel Corporation for £75,000 and the following month her initial dismantling was commenced by Arnott, Young & Co (Shipbreakers) Ltd at Dalmuir.
