Launched as War Bat.

Completed as Garada for the British India Steam Navigation Company Ltd.
20.07.1927
Suffered an outbreak of fire in No.4 hold and had to put into Singapore whilst en route from Calcutta to Australia. She had to discharge part of her cargo before she could proceed.
22.03.1931
Grounded on Ethiopia Shoal off the north-east coast of Ceylon and, after unsuccessful attempts by the Malda to free her had torn out the Garada’s bollards, she was eventually refloated on the 26th with little damage.
20.07.1936
Caught fire and completely burnt out at Cuddalore. The flames raged for five days and she had to be beached and abandoned on the 25th.
10.1936
Sold to Japanese breakers for Rs 50,000.
07.1937
Refloated and towed out of harbour on her final voyage.
29.08.1937
Ran aground in Sabang Harbour and was not refloated until the 29th January 1938.
04.1937
Arrived at Japan for breaking up.
