Immediately requisitioned for the Liner Division.

Carried sheep from Port Chalmers to Montevideo via Cape Horn.

Stuck the quay wall at Swansea while leaving for Adelaide.

Suffered a fire in the insulation while under repair at Falmouth. It was extinguished after five hours.

Ownership transferred to the Federal Steam Navigation Company Ltd (New Zealand Shipping Company, managers).

Shed a propeller blade in mid-Pacific, bound London to Apia and Suva and proceeded under auxiliary sail and slow engine speed to Suva where she arrived on 2nd February. She was docked at Wellington for repairs.

Sold for £160,000 to Nan Feng Enterprises for breaking up.
18.02.1971
Breaking up commenced at Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
