Launched by Mrs J Osborne, wife of the Director of Movements at the Admiralty.
08.11.1962
Delivered as Bacchus for the British India Steam Navigation Company Ltd, London. As she was under charter to Royal Fleet Auxiliary, she was painted in overall grey and there was nothing to show that she was a BI ship.
01.10.1971
Management transferred to P&O General Cargo Division.
17.01.1973
Ownership transferred to The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company.
29.11.1977
Damaged in a collision with Frontier on leaving Limassol.
08.09.1981
Withdrawn from Ministry of Defence service.
01.10.1981
Sailed from Chatham Dockyard for the Tyne for dry-docking at the end of the charter.
06.11.1981
At 1230hrs she was returned and immediately sold to Lion Shipping Co Pte Ltd (Lian Soon Agencies Pte Ltd, managers) Singapore and renamed Cherry Lanka.
1985
Sold to Goodluck Corporation, Pakistan, for demolition.
01.01.1986
Demolition commenced at Gadani Beach.
