- Delivered as Bamora for British India Steam Navigation Company at a cost of £70,128. She was the last of the new B-class ships to be delivered with her sisters Baroda, Barala, Bankura, Barjora, Bandra and Barpeta.

- Takeover of British India Steam Navigation Company by The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company agreed.

- Was a member of the convoy from Bombay to Marseilles.

- Served as an Indian Expeditionary Force transport.

- While she was anchored at Mohammerah, she was struck by the Strick steamer Nigaristan but the damage was minor.
