- Wireless message states that she is sinking in the Indian Ocean. Eventually sank about 1,925km (1,200 miles) west of Australia. Survivors voyaged 2,725km (1,700 miles) in open lifeboats to Mauritius. 11 lives lost out of 43 on board.
