Delivered as Surrey to the Federal Steam Navigation Company Ltd, London at a cost of £850,000.

Suffered engine problems when she arrived at Melbourne with two cylinders out of action in the starboard engine, requiring a return to Britain on the port engine alone, a voyage that was further marred by having to put into Colombo for major generator repairs.

Sold to British India Steam Navigation Company Ltd, London, and renamed Juwara.
05.02.1970
Had an engine explosion at Sydney which demolished two pistons and required another voyage to be completed on one engine.
01.10.1971
Management transferred to P&O General Cargo Division.
09.05.1972
Sold through Mitsui & Co Ltd, London, to Tung Cheng Steel Corporation, Taiwan, for demolition.
