Launched by Mrs Strangward, wife of the Director and General Manager of H C S Coasters.

Delivered as Abel Tasman to H C S Coasters Pty Ltd. She was named after the Dutch 17th century explorer Tasman.

P&O sold there interest in the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand (H C S Coasters Pty Ltd were their subsidiary company), therefore the vessel was no longer in P&O Group service.
1973
Transferred to Abel Tasman Shipping Company Pty Ltd, Melbourne.
1975
Sold to Guan Guan Shipping Ltd, Singapore, and renamed Golden Globe.
1982
Sold to Safinatus Salem Shipping Ltd, Singapore, and renamed Sam Ju.
1985
Sold to Azim Shipping Ltd, Singapore (Bayanihan Shipping Ltd, Singapore, managers) and renamed Azim 1.
1985
Sold to Amora Holdings Inc, Panama (Hind Shipping Agencies, Bombay, managers) and renamed Alfalah.

Renamed Alsarah.

Arrested for alleged smuggling by the Bangladesh Navy in the outer anchorage of Chittagong.
1989
Released and sold to Mariners Bangladesh Ltd for demolition at Begum Dockyards, Sadarghat. Subsequently beached.

Demolition commenced.
