Registered as Douro for The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company at a cost of £28,050.

Maiden sailing one of two round voyages Southampton/Constantinople to work her engines in.

Salved the French steamer Paris which had broken a shaft, towing her into Plymouth on 3rd December 1853.

Sent out for the Bombay/Singapore/Hong Kong route.

Encountered a severe typhoon in the South China Sea and became a total loss.

Ran aground on the North Paracel shoal and became a total loss.

Jolly boat arrives in Hong Kong.

Malta arrives at the wreck.

Tartar arrives at the wreck and takes off some passengers and mails.
