Registered as Baroda for The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company. Baroda is a city and was also princely state in India, 400km north of Bombay, part of Gujarat since independence.

Ran trials.

Maiden voyage Southampton/Alexandria. She was described as being comfortable and ‘tubby’.

Sailed from Southampton for Bombay, for Bombay/Suez service.
09.09.1865
Towed disabled Ottawa from Penang to Singapore (arrived 12 September).

Some voyages to Hong Kong.

Ran aground briefly in the Strait of Malacca but refloated without serious damage.

New boilers fitted at Bombay.

Transferred to Bombay/Sydney service.

Laid up in Victoria Dock, London as an accommodation ship for relief crews. Although sound she had worn-out boilers and was one of four ships laid up because of their lack of cargo capacity.

Sold for $5,360 to H Castle & Son Ltd and broken up.
