BRITANNIA was the second of the celebrated four strong ‘Jubilee’ class launched in 1887. Here she is seen ‘coaling’ at night in the outer harbour at Aden. This awkward and messy procedure was only superseded in the 1920s when P&O converted the passenger liner fleet to oil fuel.
