Delivered as Manora for British India Steam Navigation Company. Fitted with 100 ton Stulcken derrick.

Allocated 8 cadets for training purposes.

Management and operation transferred to P&O General Cargo Division.
19.04.1973
Ownership transferred to The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company.

Renamed Strathmay.
1977
Opened P&O Strath/Ellerman UK/Gulf container service, as well as P&O’s own UK/Red Sea container service.

Ownership transferred to Strick Line Ltd.
1979
Australia/Gulf service extended to New Zealand.

Australia/Gulf service containerised and transferred to OCL. Strathmay was now surplus to requirements.
