- Launched by Mrs Moval Lindsay, wife of a British India Steam Navigation Company Director.
- 12.10.1951
- Ran trials and delivered as Chakdara for the British India Steam Navigation Company Ltd.
- 04.1958
- On a voyage from Calcutta to the UK, a fire broke out in her No.3 upper tween deck. It was presumed it started in expellers.
- 15.05.1966
- Suffered a major engine breakdown off the Somaliland coast which left her helpless. She was towed into Mombasa by the Danish salvage tug Svitzer but it was then found that the damage was sufficiently serious to require the attention of a large engine works and she was towed back to Britain for that to be carried out.

- Management transferred to P&O General Cargo Division.

- Sold to Ben Thong Manufacturing Co (Pte) Ltd, Singapore (Fortune Navigation Enterprises Pte Ltd, managers) and renamed Fortune Navigator.
