Suffered a fire in her sugar cargo. Arrived in Bermuda the following day, where the fire was extinguished on the 21st and she sailed on the 22nd.

Sold for £27,000 to Bank Line Ltd, Glasgow, (Andrew Weir & Co, managers) and renamed Tinhow.

Requisitioned for the Liner Division.

Torpedoed by U181 off Lourenco Marques (25°15’S-33°30’E) en route from Durban and Beira and Calcutta carrying general cargo. She was originally in convoy DN37 which had dispersed. Of her 78 crew, five gunners and 124 passengers on board, 25 crew and 50 passengers were lost.
