- Stood by Trident Tankers’ Ellenga after she had broken down in the eastern Mediterranean, towing her for 325km (200 miles) until her engines were repaired.

- Managers and operators renamed P&O Lines.

- Returned to British India Steam Navigation Co Ltd and renamed Nardana because of the imminent conversion of the Australian service to containers.

- Reported anchored off Dubai with boiler trouble during a voyage from Abadan to Shanghai. Reported sold to Chinese shipbreakers but as a result of further engine trouble was sold to Karambux-Mirambus, Pakistan.
