PERSIA (1900) was P&O's largest and most expensive ship to date when she was delivered to P&O in 1900. During the First World War, PERSIA continued to be employed on regular mail and passenger services until the 30th December 1915 when she was torpedoed and sunk, by a German U boat with great loss of life.
