65.625% interest acquired by P&O Containers Ltd as part of P&O purchase of Cunard-Ellerman container shipping interests.

Renamed Pegasus Bay. Transferred to Europe/Australia and New Zealand service.

P&O Containers Ltd renamed P&O Nedlloyd Ltd and reduced to P&O associate by establishment of P&O Nedlloyd Container Lines Ltd.

P&O Nedlloyd acquired minority shares in Ellerman Harrison Container Line and thereby in Charente Steamship Company Ltd. Now 100% owned by P&O Nedlloyd.
