- Sold by P&O European Ferries (Dover) Ltd to Sutten Ltd (50% owned by P&O) and chartered back.

- Outstanding 50% of Sutten Ltd purchased.

- P&O interest in owners Sutten Ltd reduced to 60%. Management transferred to P&O Stena Line Ship Management Ltd (P&O interest also 60%).

- Underwent a conversion to full passenger mode at her builders. Capacities now 2,000 passengers and 650 cars. Re-measured. Tonnage now 30,365 gt.

- DP World bought The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company, therefore the vessel was no longer in P&O service.

- Struck the wreck of Mahratta while manoeuvring into The Downs off the Kent coast during heavy weather. During the collision, she lost one of her propellers.
