- Completed as Loongana for Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand at a cost of £87,794. She was intended for the Melbourne/Launceston service, she was the first ocean-going turbine steamer.

- Left on her maiden voyage to Melbourne.

- Takeover of the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand by The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company agreed.

- During the unloading of a spare propeller shaft, it fell out of its sling and went straight through the bottom of the ship.

- Transferred (along with Oonah) to Tasmanian Steamers Pty, Melbourne, when it was formed. Retained the same name and service.

- Sold to Tanaka Kabusiki Kaisya, Osaka, for scrapping. She was towed there by Kanna.
